Suggested response:
‘I’m Matthew Lofgran and I am the CEO and founder of Elephant Oil.
We are an oil company focused on underexplored areas in West Africa.
And we have an incredible opportunity in Benin, where Elephant Oil has a large onshore licence estimated to contain over 3.3 billion barrels of oil.
It’s called Block B.
And the best bit is, we’re ready to get drilling.’
Interviewer (off camera): Tell us a bit more about Block B.
Matthew Lofgran suggested response:
‘Block B is a large onshore licence in Benin.
‘It’s right in the middle of a VERY successful oil producing region - between the Onshore Niger Delta, the Onshore Dahomey and the Onshore Ivory coast and Tano.’

Matthew Lofgran: ‘Block B is in a fantastic location which has GREAT accessibility. The area is very close to local refineries. It’s a 1 hour drive from the airport – where there are daily flights from major European cities And it’s about an hour from the seaport to Allada, which is a leading exporter in the region.’

Visual: on screen text Ian Bulley, Lead Geologist: 35 years exploration and development experience
Interviewer (off camera): Ian, tell us about yourself
Ian Bulley suggested response: ‘I’m Ian Bulley and I’m Elephant Oil’s lead geologist.
I’ve been finding oil for over 35 years now.
I was part of the team that discovered the East Africa Rift Oil province – where the US government estimated there was 13.4 billion barrels of oil and 4.6 trillion cubic feet of gas.
I was also a leading member of the team of geologists who found Mauritania’s first producible hydrocarbons.’
And I was principal geologist at Cain Energy New Ventures with a leading role in their entry into all of the Cote d’Ivoire licences and into entry into Mauritania’
Interviewer (off camera): Ian, talk more about the location (Block B) and what excites you about it.
Ian Bulley: ‘The really exciting thing for me as a geologist is that Block B sits right next door to Nigeria, which is a HUGELY successful oil producing region.
So we know there’s a lot of oil there.
And of course, geographical country borders don’t respect what’s under the earth.’

Question: And tell me what excites you about the elephant oil opportunity?
Peter Elliot: “One of the great positives about Benin – when it comes to drilling for oil and hydrocarbons – is that it is a really stable and friendly country.

In fact they have a 13 per cent buy back option on our site.’
